Creating a Safe, Supportive Space Where Patients Come First

Sahayarani Trust began as a non-profit organization in 1960 by I. Santiago popularly known as Papaiya. It began by providing medical services to people living in villages within twenty kilometers of Kalaiyarkovil and educational services through a residential school in the early 1960s. His son, Antony Arulsekar took on the reins of the work and equipped the hospital with emergency health care and pharmaceutical services in the year 2002. The hospital started as a polyclinic and has now grown into a multi-speciality hospital.

Mr. Antony also identified gaps in healthcare delivery in the area and established the Sahayarani Hospital in 2002. Since then, quality medical services have been provided to patients by in-house doctors and specialists from Madurai and Karaikudi.In January 2024, with the support of a social work professional and a friend the services of Sahayarani Multi-specialty Hospital and Sahayarani Trust were merged to address the growing need for advanced medical services among the rural folk at Kalaiyarkovil. Today, our dedicated doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals work with care and efficiency to ensure that everyone who walks through the hospital door receives preventive care, and life-saving treatments with compassion, by creating a safe and supportive space where patients come first.
